Here at The Classic, we do golf a little differently than your average golf course…. We have 9 holes instead of 18. We enjoy wearing “LOUD” clothes. We offer multiple ways for you play the course. AND we love to make golf fun!
The course is both fun and challenging; we have water and sand hazards, an island green on hole 6, different tee markers for all types of golfers, and our par 4s and our par 5 allows you to use every club in your bag. We even have food & beverage too!

What’s Available The Classic
The best part about The Classic is that it is a great course for all types of players. From scratch golfers to women to seniors to children, any skill level is capable of playing well and enjoying their time out on the course. We have rental clubs, driving carts & push carts available.
American Classic also offers junior rates for juniors U16 at $10/junior. We are also affiliated with Youth On Course, to get these rates, please call to book your tee time.
Need a golf lesson? Sam is the man for the job! Sam has been voted as the BEST GOLF PRO in Sussex County in both 2023 & 2024. The American Classic Golf Club presents: THE BACK NINE! The Back Nine is our food and beverage operation. We offer the BEST BLT in Southern Delaware, hot dogs, cobb salads, tuna melts, and more! The Back Nine also has 4 rotating taps, a curated selection of wine, liquor and canned beer/cocktails to keep you hydrated on and off the course.
We offer Flinggolf as an alternative option to get out on the course. Flinggolf is played alongside regular golfers, the only change is that you use a Flingstick instead of golf clubs. Flinggolf Fridays @ 5:30pm | Fridays in June – August
Get paired up with a flinggolf pro and learn how to play the game! We play a 4 person scramble format to encourage a pressure free learning experience. Come have fun, meet new people and try a new sport! Open to everyone, no experience necessary. Email Austin to sign up for the upcoming Friday!
In the summertime, enjoy live music on the outdoor patio! Twice a month we bring in musical acts. It is quite the experience to play golf & listen to live music at the same time!
(B)alanced fitness studio was established in 2023. The studio offers 1-on-1 personal training, group fitness classes and wellness workshops at ACGC for our golf community!
