This year, the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) and PGA Show held their golf conferences at the end of January in Orlando, Florida. With having big goals for the 2020 season here at American Classic, some of the staff members were able to take the trip down. The NGCOA allows golf course owners from all around the world to share creative ideas together to help grow the game that we all love so much. Then from the PGA Show, everyone is able to see the technological advances in golf and how golf brands plan to move forward with their clubs, clothing, and other golfing equipment.

The first couple of days were dedicated to the NGCOA Conference. At this conference, you get to meet other golf course owners from all around the world, and engage with one another on things that you have success with at your course as well as things you would like to improve upon. It is a wonderful experience to be able to talk with someone from another country or somewhere else in the United States and learn how they are creating a fun environment for golfers in their area. During the conference, you also get to listen to several guest speakers who go into great detail on things that you can improve on at your golf course. After two full days of listening to innovative ideas and creating some of our own, we are excited to say that we have some fun things planned for everyone here at the Classic.

Once the NGCOA Conference wrapped up, the staff moved its focus to the PGA Show. We all agreed that this was a fun experience since we got to see some of the new technology and designs that well known golf brands are going to be releasing this year.

Not only are well known brands such as Callaway, Cobra, Ping, etc. doing fun things for golf, but there were thousands of smaller businesses with some creative ideas and branding. Because of our time spent at the show, Austin is excited to announce that he will be incorporating more technology into his lessons and clinics, and Britt is planning on bringing in some new brands and designs into the pro shop.

The American Classic team had a wonderful time at both events, and learned a lot about the golf industry. Our goal is to always have our golfers enjoy their time when they visit us, and everything we learned from this trip will definitely enhance your experience here at the Classic. We hope that you’re just as excited as we are!
